Memorial Museum Hosts OU's New Media Institute

June 03, 2011

More than 25 journalism students from Nepal, Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka attending the international journalism New Media Institute at the University of Oklahoma Gaylord College of Journalism, toured the Memorial and Museum today. The students are studying how the media covered terrorism and how that has changed since the Oklahoma City bombing. Students used iPads and cameras to record parts of their visit and to take photographs throughout the Museum.

“We are pleased to host these students at the Memorial and Museum and for them to have a firsthand look at how Reporting Terrorism is changing,” said Kari Watkins, Executive Director of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. “These students are on the cutting edge of how we get our news and we love having the Museum serve as a hands-on learning laboratory.”
