This cross, fabricated from the steel of the destroyed 1 World Trade Center, was presented to Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating at Ground Zero on October 27, 2001, by officers of the Emergency Services Unit of the New York City Police Department. Governor Keating had a special connection to the first responders in New York City, as many of them had responded to the Oklahoma City bombing and then lost their lives on 09.11.
