Volunteers Honored for Over 8,000 Hours Given in 2011

February 22, 2012
The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum honored our volunteers at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on Tuesday, February 21. The event was held at the Myriad Gardens Restaurant with an incredible view of the Crystal Bridge at night. Our deep felt gratitude was expressed to over 60 volunteers for their contribution of 8,716 hours that equals almost $150,000. Volunteers give their time to the Memorial in Visitor Services, Archives, Administration and Special Events. Special awards were given to seven volunteers who have given ten years of service to the Memorial. Those receiving this distinctive recognition were Pam Ellis, Jerry Heppler, Donna Kingry, Ellie Lottinville, Annetta McCoy, Frances Leonard and Jo Wolf. Volunteers Cliff Cagle and Terie Greaves were given the Above and Beyond award.
The banquet was attended by June Ranney who presented an award named in her honor. This year’s recipient of the June Ranney Special Service Award was Pam Ellis. Executive Director, Kari Watkins, presented the Outstanding MVP award to Mary Green for her dedication and contribution of almost 400 hours this past year.
The Memorial is privileged to have such an exceptional group of individuals who give their time and dedication to ensure that the lessons of the Oklahoma City bombing will be shared with visitors from around the world.
