Memorial Celebrates National Volunteer Appreciation Week

April 16, 2012
This week for National Volunteer Appreciation week we are honoring our volunteers! The volunteers at the Memorial are a dedicated group that gave over 8,000 hours in 2011! We appreciate the time they give to the Memorial and the amazing job they do helping visitors experience the Museum every day.
Memorial Volunteer Elinor Lottiville, Ph.D, led a tour for the Parkview neighborhood of Touchmark at Coffee Creek Retirement Community in Edmond. George Tallchief, former chief of the Osage tribe, was part of this tour and is also a resident of the community. Chief Tallchief is now 95 years old and on April 19, 1995, lost 25 friends who worked for HUD and the Southern Plains Native American Programs.
