Memorial Partners with Students to Teach
Lessons Learned

April 20, 2012
One of the key components to keeping the Memorial and Museum relevant is to continue teaching the Lessons Learned from the April 19, 1995, attack in an engaging and educational way.
Dr. Elizabeth Woodworth’s students from Auburn University at Montgomery, Alabama, have created a partnership with the Civil Rights Memorial at the Southern Poverty Law Center, much like the partnership we have with Dr. Brooke Hessler’s students at OCU. These two professors are demonstrating how Memorial Museums can be a place of study and partnership for college students. The students experienced the Remembrance Ceremony on April 19th, and toured the Museum and Memorial Archives. We are now teaching this story and our lessons to students who weren’t even born in 1995.
