G31-US Marine Korea Association Visits Memorial

October 09, 2012
Fifty members, spouses and family members representing the US Marine Corps G31 Korean War Association gathered at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum for a service remembering those Marines, living and dead, who served our country during that conflict. George Company, 3rd Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division was a rifle company, taken mostly from civilian life and thrown into battle. Outnumbered 10 to 1 and enduring weather that dropped to 25 below zero they became one of the most decorated combat units of that war. As the commanding officer, Captain Carl Sitter said, "They came to salute the brave, living members, but also to remember the braver dead, who gave their today's for our tomorrows."
Following the ceremony, Carleton Bingham and Paul Price laid a wreath at the chairs of Sgt. Benjamin Davis and Captain Randolph Guzman, US Marines killed in the Murrah bombing.
