NRHA Presents Proceeds from
Hometown Heroes Slide to Memorial

The National Reining Horse Association presented the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum with a contribution of $12,842. The donation represents proceeds from the 2nd Annual Hometown Heroes Slide held in November during the NRHA Futurity. The event was a friendly competition between Oklahoma City firefighters and police who rode a modified slide pattern on some of the world's best reining horses. Formula 1 race car driver Michael Schumacher and singer Lyle Lovett served as team captains and celebrity riders for Team Fire and Team Police. These horse riding heroes were also some of Oklahoma City's heroes in the hours, days and weeks following the April 19, 1995, bombing.
