Name Added to Survivor Wall

April 02, 2013

Willie Gene Martin was engraved as the 643rd name on the Survivor Wall by Greg Rand of Ponca City, who has assisted with these additions for the past six years. On April 19, 1995, Martin was buried under rubble in the alley on the south side of the Journal Record Building. He was heard by Oklahoma City Firefighter Dennis Griffin who uncovered and rescued him. Martin's entire story can be read in the Those Who Survived computer interactive exhibit in the Memorial Museum.
