Chesapeake Sponsors Belle Isle Middle School Visit to the Memorial

May 22, 2008

Eighth graders from Belle Isle Middle School, one of Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s adopt-a-schools, visited the Memorial to conclude their study of the Murrah Building bombing. Using the Memorial’s Hope Trunk, teachers prepared students for what they would learn about the impact of violence and the importance of personal responsibility. Following a park ranger talk on the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial, students toured the Museum. In conjunction with Reporting Terrorism, the Museum’s current special exhibit, former KWTV Anchor Tamara Pratt provided a First Person program, sharing her experiences as a member of the media. Their trip was made possible through Chesapeake’s generous support as one of the Memorial’s Partners in Hope.
