Oklahoma City Police Department Recruits Visit Memorial Museum

May 29, 2008

As part of their academy training for the Oklahoma City Police Department, all recruits spend several hours at the Memorial, seeing firsthand the department’s critical role in the aftermath of the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Murrah Building and learning about the impact of violence.  Major Ed Hill provided a program detailing events leading up to and following the bombing, and the importance of police investigative procedures in the apprehension of Timothy McVeigh.  Following lunch and a presentation by Master Sergeant Keith Simonds, recruits toured the Museum.
