Survivor Tree Still Grows Strong

Memorial Facilities & Grounds staff Lance Baisden and Pat Bishop, and Mark Bays, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food & Forestry, removed sections of the protective cast iron grate surrounding the Survivor Tree to expand the opening, allowing for the tree’s continued growth. Bays inspected the area beneath the grate and checked the irrigation system to ensure the tree will remain strong and healthy, after which the grate was reinstalled.
