Children Visit The Memorial To Participate in VIP Kids' Club

July 07, 2008
Children from LaPetite Academy visited the Memorial today to participate in a Violence is Preventable VIP Kids’ Club program. Using literature, video, abbreviated tours of the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial and the Museum, and discussion, students learn about the importance of helping others when bad things happen. They see the ways firefighters, police officers, doctors, nurses, teachers and children helped when the Murrah Building was bombed in 1995. After talking about the Survivor Tree as a symbol of hope, children draw their own symbols of hope. This program is made possible through the generous support of JPMorgan Chase.
