Memorial Presents First Person - Stories of Hope to Conference Attendees

August 19, 2008
State Labor Department officials responsible for administering and enforcing state labor laws from across the U.S. are in Oklahoma City this week attending the Interstate Labor Standards Association's 2008 conference.
Conference attendees listened to Oklahoma City bombing survivor Amy Petty and first responder Major Rick Yarbrough tell about their experiences. Petty was working in the Federal Employees Credit Union on the 3rd Floor of the Alfred P. Murrah Building and was rescued from the rubble more than six hours after the blast. Yarbrough was a lieutenant with the Oklahoma City Fire Department and was the officer in charge of Rescue Squad One, one of the first on the scene following the bombing.
First Person – Stories of Hope is presented each Friday at 1:30 in the Museum through August 29, and by request to groups visiting the Memorial Museum.
