First Person - Stories of Hope Features Sue Hale and Joe Hight

Vice President of Community Engagement Sue Hale and Director of Information & Development Joe Hight helped form the team that directed the The Oklahoman’s coverage of the bombing in 1995. Their work won many awards including two national Society of Professional Journalists awards and a national Dart Award for Excellence in Coverage of Violence. Writing personal tributes instead of obituaries for those who were killed and providing counseling and other self-care opportunities for their staff were among many ways The Oklahoman set the standard for journalists and news organizations covering terrorist attacks and other disasters.

First Person – Stories of Hope is presented each Friday at 1:30 in the Museum through August 29, and by request to groups visiting the Memorial Museum.
