Chairs Shine Brightly as 'Beacons of Hope'

Patrick Bishop and Lance Baisden, Memorial maintenance engineers, and Peter Newell of OESCO close up the last of the 168 chairs to complete an intensive relamping project. This terrific maintenance team changed the nine year old lighting mechanism in each of the chairs over the past two weeks without ever leaving the chairs without power. The chairs will shine brightly tonight and into the future.

“I appreciate the standard in which this team approached this important project,” said Kari Watkins, Executive Director. “They understood the seriousness and honored each person killed by their work. The Memorial will be as beautiful tonight as it was the night we opened.”
