The Grass Grows Greener

Memorial maintenance staff met today with Dennis Martin, Ph.D, a turfgrass research specialist with Oklahoma State University. Dr. Martin visits the Memorial each year to check the condition of the Zoysiagrass and look for growth, challenges with the amount of thatch, insects and any other issues related to the soil and turf.

The Memorial, a 3.3 acre site, is covered with beautiful Zoysiagrass and maintained at an impeccable level.

"Thanks to Dr. Martin and his colleagues at OSU for helping keep the Memorial beautiful and a hallmark of our community," said Kari Watkins, Executive Director. "Since we opened the Memorial almost nine years ago, they have helped us research and develop maintenance theories for keeping the grass on this site beautiful."
