MVP Spotlight - Marguerite Christman

December 02, 2008

Marguerite Christman has been part of the Memorial Volunteer Program (MVP) for six years. An example of Oklahoma hospitality and caring, Marguerite is the recipient of the Above & Beyond award for her dedication and commitment to the Memorial. When asked why she is a part of this program, Marguerite said, “My sister is a survivor and I came to the site to find her. After her physical healing, I learned of the possibility to volunteer. This has given me a great opportunity to share with many others the story, the mission of this Memorial and the impact it had on so many people. It is great to meet people from all over this nation and the world who come here to learn of this event and see how the Memorial is changing lives. It is rewarding to me to continue to share this story. The longer we are away from the date of 1995, the more important it becomes to share this with others and the hope that has been created in the survival and restoration of lives that were affected. It is my pleasure and joy to serve.”

MVPs are truly an asset to the high visitor services standard that is maintained at the Oklahoma City National Memorial. If you are interested in becoming a Memorial Volunteer you may apply online or contact Joanne Riley at 405-235-3313 or email jr@oklahomacitynationalmemorial.org.
