Called2Change participant Cheyenne Middle School Presents Check to Memorial

December 12, 2008
Cheyenne Middle School (Edmond, Oklahoma) principal Dr. Debbie Bendick and Memorial Deputy Director Lynne Roller are joined by eighth grade students Daniel Johnson and Rachel Davis who presented the Memorial with a donation of $1000, which was raised through their annual “Walk to Remember” last May. Through the walk, Cheyenne students have given the Memorial more than $3500 over the last four years. The students also toured the Memorial and Museum and heard former reporter Terri Watkins' First Person: Stories of Hope presentation as part of their Called2Change curriculum during their visit.
Designed specifically for middle school students, Called2Change reaches students at a critical point in their lives, when peer pressure, growing responsibility, and the need to belong are at their peak.
