Symbols of Faith Opens as Memorial Prepares for 14th Anniversary Events

April 17, 2009

Clergy from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and St. Joseph’s Old Cathedral joined Memorial Executive Director Kari Watkins in opening the special photo exhibit Symbols of Faith in the Memorial Museum. Canon Luke Back from St. Paul’s gave a special blessing to mark the opening.

Symbols of Faith includes a collection of oversized photos by Oklahoma photographer Ann E. Clark that captures the hope and healing that happens through a community’s journey of faith. Many symbols of faith can be seen throughout the Memorial and Museum. These items that have been left as mementos and prayers on the fence, or captured in the personal belongings of those who were killed, help tell the story of that day inside the Memorial Museum. Artifacts relating to the faith that sustains a nation are also included in the exhibit.
