Memorial Marathon Weekend is Here!

April 25, 2009

It is the most inspirational weekend of the year! The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is a weekend to celebrate life, and this year, 19,000 runners from 49 states and several foreign countries will come together with more than 6,000 volunteers and approximatley 50,000 spectators to experience the 2009 “Run to Remember.”

Pasta Party

Tonight, runners will get a chance to talk with survivors, family members and rescue workers at the Pasta Party from 5-8 p.m. on the Plaza overlooking the Memorial site. Marathon participants and family can purchase tickets for $10 per person at the Marathon Health & Fitness Expo and at the Pasta Party this evening. Join us for great music, great company and lots of carbs to get you ready to run!

Only participants with bibs will be allowed in Finishers Corral on Broadway. Kids Marathon participants will be corralled into the Kids Finish Park at 5th and Robinson to reunite with parents and/or designated sponsors. Take a moment to make sure you have filled out the back of your child’s bib with race day contact information.

Each runner has a complimentary voucher to experience the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum. The Memorial Museum will open early on race day at 9 a.m. to accommodate runners and their friends and families.

Enjoy the race! We hope your run is as inspirational to you as your running it is to us!
