Cherokee Native Tours Outdoor Symbolic Memorial In Preparation for Conference Next Year

June 06, 2009
Merril Morton and Dawn Scarborough toured the Memorial with Cherokee Native American Janet Thues, who wore traditional garb in preparation for a Presbyterian Women's conference scheduled to take place in Oklahoma City next year. The theme of the conference, "Heritage," inspired them to tour local sites in downtown Oklahoma City while dressed in native clothing. Having been to the Memorial before, Morton will encourage conference attendees to experience the Memorial and Museum by day, and has a special love for experiencing the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial at night.
