Three Memorial Trustees Announced as
2009 Oklahoma Hall of Fame Inductees

June 05, 2009

Three Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation Trustees were announced as 2009 Oklahoma Hall of Fame inductees at a luncheon today, June 5th, in their honor. Burns Hargis, Polly Nichols and Justice Steven Taylor will be given the highest honor the state can bestow on an individual at a special ceremony in November of this year. Since the Oklahoma Hall of Fame’s inception in 1927, 628 accomplished individuals have received this commendation.

“We are so thrilled that these three very special people and contributors to our story will join this prestigious group of past honorees,” said Kari Watkins, Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum Executive Director. “Polly is a survivor of the bombing and did so much work to help create this place in both fundraising and chairing the Foundation Board, Judge Taylor was the district judge who oversaw the state trial of Terry Nichols and Burns served as Chairman of the Foundation as well and helped guide different efforts over the past 14 years. We are very proud of their accomplishments and honored to work with them in making Oklahoma such a wonderful place.”
