Military Service Veterans Visit Memorial and Museum

June 08, 2009
While in Oklahoma City for their unit reunion, three Vietnam veterans of the 3rd Battalion, 27th Marines, visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial. This unit, with a history dating back to World War II, was deployed in Vietnam for 7 months and suffered 245 killed in action and over 2,000 awarded Purple Hearts for combat. These Marines commented on how emotional their visit was, and what a wonderful tribute Oklahoma City has built.
