Educators Attending the 2009 Education Summit Hear About the Bombing Investigation

June 10, 2009

Educators attending the 2009 Education Summit took a closer look at the investigation of the Oklahoma City bombing with special speakers Charlie Hanger, former Oklahoma Highway Patrolman who made a critical arrest shortly following the bombing, and Jon Hersley and Larry Tongate, FBI agents who led the criminal investigation. This afternoon they will also hear about recognizing students at risk from rescue worker and psychologist Dr. Ellie Lottinville.

When asked how the Memorial and Museum help in her classroom, Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School American History teacher and Summit attendee Nancy Brewer said, "Kids today don’t think of history as relevant unless they can walk through it. And they walk through it here. History is abstract to students and this museum makes it tangible. They get it."
