Chesapeake Energy Employees Volunteer At Memorial and Museum

June 18, 2009
Chesapeake Energy is one of Oklahoma’s largest employers and an incredible supporter of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. To celebrate the company’s 20th Anniversary, the employees are working 20,000 hours of community service. Chesapeake volunteers handed out visitor guides and answered questions from Memorial visitors. This is the first of several projects the Memorial will be doing with them throughout the summer.
Corporate donors like Chesapeake Energy Corp. are critical to the success of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. The Memorial & Museum is a private non-profit organization, and does not receive any annual operating funds from the federal, state or local government. Museum admissions, store sales, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, earnings from an endowment and private fundraising allow the Memorial and Museum to be self-sustaining.
