Each Friday this summer, visitors to the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum will have a unique opportunity to hear from some of the people most affected by the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.
Join us this Friday at 1:30 p.m. inside the Memorial Museum.
This Week’s Featured Speaker
Edmond Police Officer Rockie Yardley
Rockie Yardley arrived at the Murrah Building within 30 minutes of the bombing, and assisted with rescue and evidence recovery for more than 30 days. Part of the team that recovered the last victims after the building was imploded, Yardley is the member of Team 5 responsible for the message left on the wall of the Journal Record Building, which is visible on the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial. For his work at the bombing site, he was awarded the Medal of Valor from the Edmond Police Department and the 1995 Exceptional Service Award from the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police. Yardley has served as Crime Scene Investigator, Bomb Disposal Technician and Police Dive Team Instructor for the Edmond Police Department, and is the developer and Chief Instructor for the Underwater Explosive Recover Specialist Course.
First Person: Stories of Hope presentations are free with paid admission to the Memorial Museum. This program is also available by advanced reservation for groups touring the Memorial and Museum.
