Investigate Professional Development Opportunities at the Memorial
August 20, 2009

From interactive workshops at the Museum to in-service presentations at schools, the Memorial provides a variety of opportunities for administrators, teachers, counselors and school resource officers to enhance their subject matter knowledge, expand their understanding of at risk students and students in crisis, and experience the impact of the Memorial and Museum as a resource for teaching students to act responsibly and make good choices.
More than 400 educators participated in professional development workshops or classes provided by the Memorial. The 2010 Education Summit, provided in part through the generous support of The Kerr Foundation, Inc., is scheduled for June 8-9. Other workshops planned for the coming year include a session with Dr. Robin Gurwitch, a look at the investigative process from a scientific/crime scene perspective with FBI Bomb Technician Barry Black and other professionals, and a seminar with Jon Hersley and Larry Tongate, lead case agents in the OK Bomb investigation and authors of Simple Truths.
Watch the Memorial Web site, www.oklahomacitynationalmemorial.org, for dates and application information.
