U.S. Representative Mary Fallin's Staff Tours
Memorial and Museum

August 26, 2009
Staff members from U.S. Representative Mary Fallin’s office toured the Oklahoma City Memorial Museum while in Oklahoma City doing fieldwork for the Oklahoma Congresswoman. Fallin and Representative Tom Cole are working to help the Memorial secure the remaining $2 million of a one-time, $5 million matching grant approved but not appropriated in 2004 by the U.S. Congress to assist in creating an endowment to maintain the Memorial and Museum in perpetuity. The $5 million matching grant was also matched by a $5 million grant from the State of Oklahoma. An additional $8 million was raised in private funds for the Memorial’s endowment.
All funds to operate and maintain the 3.3 acre Memorial site and Memorial Museum are raised through Museum ticket admissions, Memorial Store sales, private donations from individuals and corporations, grants, earnings from an endowment and proceeds from the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is a non-profit organization and does not receive any annual funding from federal, state or local governments.
