Soldiers From Connecticut Visit the Memorial and Museum as Part of a Faith Confronts Terrorism Retreat

September 08, 2009
National Guard soldiers from Connecticut and Florida visited the Memorial and Museum on Saturday as part of a Faith Confronts Terrorism retreat led by Ft. Sill Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel) Calvin Eastham. Eastham facilitated discussions on terrorist motives, why American values are targeted, and how individual faith contributes to courage and resilience. Oklahoma City Fire Department Chaplain Ted Wilson, who is also a chaplain with the Oklahoma Army National Guard, was speaker for a First Person program. The soldiers, who deploy to Iraq in early October, were each given an American flag from the Fence as a symbol of hope.
