Continental Society Daughters of Indian Wars Lays Wreath at Memorial to Honor Those Who Were Killed

September 18, 2009

Members of the Continental Society Daughters of Indian Wars laid a wreath to honor the victims of the 1995 bombing at the Oklahoma City National Memorial, upon Librarian General of Oklahoma City Barbara Brown's suggestion. Marcia Weber, Governor General, and Karen Hall, Chaplain General, officiated at the ceremony attended by group members from several states. The society is composed of women citizens from the United States, Canada and Mexico who are lineal descendents of Native American or immigrant ancestors who engaged in hostilities from 1607 to 1900. The society, which has a strong educational component through scholarships and a historical records preservation program, cited the Memorial was an inspiring combination of a beautiful site, and a powerful and educational Museum.
