Memorial Seeks New Volunteers to Help Spread the Message of Hope and Resilience

September 22, 2009

MVPs are truly an asset to the high visitor services standard that is maintained at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. New volunteers learn about the Memorial and Museum during Memorial Volunteer Program (MVP) training. Volunteers are often the faces of the Memorial during visitor experiences. They serve as information providers, greeters, Oklahoma City ambassadors and more to the half million Memorial visitors each year.

When asked why she is an MVP, Marguerite Christman said, “This has given me a great opportunity to share with many others the story, the mission of this Memorial and the impact it had on so many people. It is great to meet people from all over this nation and the world who come here to learn of this event and see how the Memorial is changing lives. It is rewarding to me to continue to share this story. The longer we are away from the date of 1995, the more important it becomes to share this with others and the hope that has been created in the survival and restoration of lives that were affected. It is my pleasure and joy to serve.”
