Become a Guardian of the Memorial: Help Share
Our Message of Resilience and Hope

October 08, 2009
Major gifts and the pennies of children helped build this Memorial and Museum. With every gift, each donor became a Guardian of the Memorial, the lives we honor and the story we tell through the Memorial and Museum. The Memorial is a private non-profit organization, and does not receive any annual operating funds from the federal, state or local government. Museum admissions, store sales, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, earnings from an endowment and private fundraising allow the Memorial and Museum to be self-sustaining.
The Outdoor Symbolic Memorial thrives as a beacon of hope with some of the most recognizable and profoundly meaningful symbols anywhere, from the fall leaves changing color on the trees in the Rescuers' Orchard to the messages of love, hope and encouragement drawn in chalk by the innocent hands of our youngest visitors. The lights on the Field of Empty Chairs glow each night in remembrance of the life they represent; the Memorial is a living, breathing, ever-changing work of art.
The Memorial Museum tells the story of not only the tragedy of the bombing, but the stories of resilience, heroes and healing in the days, months and years following. But remembering is not enough. Education is the key to raising a generation that believes in personal responsibility, resilience and respect for others. Through educational curriculum, school and group tours, and a variety of programs, the Memorial strives to promote a positive, thought provoking and life changing experience for each visitor, young and old alike.
Please join the other Guardians whose donations help fulfill our mission of remembrance and education every day by becoming a Guardian of the Memorial and making your tax-deductible gift today.
