Student Essay Contest Entries Due Friday!

More than 800 students from 49 states, the District of Columbia and Spain have submitted essays for the Memorial’s ninth annual Student Essay Contest. Only North Dakota is not represented to date. Quotations selected for this year’s contest are from people with a personal connection to the bombing, and highlight the importance of courage, strength and hope in the decisions we make in our lives. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in four divisions for students in grades 5 – 12. Winners will be recognized at the Oklahoma House of Representatives in February, and winning essays are included in the Virtual Archives at the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum for one year.

Entries are due on Friday, December 18, 2009.
