Putnam City North High School Key Club Members
Volunteer at Memorial

January 25, 2010
Sixteen Putnam City North High School Key Club members spent Saturday afternoon volunteering at the Memorial. Aslan Maleki, Khurram Jiwani, Sotia Abdulaziz, Sabrina Ahmed, Samantha Chen, Jennifer Chen, Yvonne Chan, Kyndall Lewis, Shaina Varughese, Farris Willingham, Ellen Whiteley, Sarah Scungio, Yan Tan, Nina Afzalian, Sara Adams, and Sadia Tashim tied tags on Hope Bears and filled educational packets to be placed in the Hope Trunk.
When asked why they chose to volunteer time at the Memorial, one student wrote, "The bombing of the Murrah Building had a major impact on Oklahomans, as well as the rest of the world. Putnam City North Key Club feels that it is very important to volunteer here to help the community remember what happened, and move towards a stronger and safer world."
Volunteerism is important to the mission and longevity of the Memorial. Click here for more information about the Memorial Volunteer Program.
The Hope Trunk, a component of the Memorial's Called2Change program, contains artifacts, visual materials, and classroom exercises that may be used by educators as a stand alone unit or incorporated into regular math, geography and reading/literature lessons.
