It's Still Snowing Downtown

January 29, 2010

The Memorial Museum is closed today, but we are grateful to the men on our Facilities & Construction and Security staff for working out in the elements to ensure the site is safe and secure. The Outdoor Symbolic Memorial is gorgeous with the winter snow. The Loblolly pine trees that line the footprint and the Survivor Tree are monitored 24 hours a day in severe weather. Mark Bays, Urban Forestry Coordinator with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, has just surveyed the trees on the site and they are all doing well. Bays works with the Memorial Facilities & Construction staff to maintain the trees on the site throughout the year.

Watch our Web site for more details about our Saturday hours.
