MVP Spotlight...Dave Dean

February 04, 2010

Dave Dean joined the Memorial Volunteer Program (MVP) in 2001 with his wife, Pat. They were among some of the first volunteers at the Memorial Museum.

In his own words...

"We had run meals out of Bricktown during the period right after the bombing. Our son-in-law was working with the Oklahoma City Fire Department and I volunteered to work the 'bucket brigade.' So, we were affected by the bombing even though we didn’t know anyone who worked in the Murrah Building," said Dean. Reflecting on his time as a volunteer, Dean remarked, "After living in Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, California, Texas, Wisconsin and Oklahoma and traveling to a lot of places serving in the U.S. Air Force (1948-1952), I enjoy meeting people from those areas and our international visitors as well."
