A Month from Today...

March 19, 2010

Just 30 days from today, April 19th, people around the world will pause to remember and reflect on April 19, 1995, when 168 people were killed, hundreds survived and thousands were changed forever by the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

Remembrance Ceremony
April 19th - 9:00 a.m.

This year marks the 15th Anniversary of the day the world began to look at terrorism differently. On this important day, Monday, April 19th, a Remembrance Ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. on the grounds of the Memorial. The ceremony will feature Ford Bell, the President of American Association of Museums, to discuss the importance of remembrance and using objects to teach history for the generations.

 

 

Mark Halperin

National Media Symposium
April 19th - 1:30 p.m.

Later that afternoon, people who deal with terrorism on a daily basis will speak from this perspective as part of our annual National Media Symposium held at the Museum. Featured moderator Mark Halperin, Editor-at-Large, TIME Magazine, and others who worked on the OK Bomb case will speak on reporting terrorism and how it has changed over the past 15 years.

 

 

Cox Community Day

Visitors wanting to tour the Museum may do so for FREE on April 19th, thanks to Cox Communications as part of Cox Community Day from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
