President Clinton Holds OKC Symposium in
Washington, D.C. Today

April 16, 2010

President Bill Clinton is at Georgetown University Law School today talking about The Tragedy of Oklahoma City -15 Years Later and the Lessons for Today during a keynote address in Washington, D.C., this morning. The former president was in his first term in office when Timothy McVeigh bombed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Clinton drew parallels between the anti-government threats being used now and what was being said then. He spoke about Oklahoma City and its current relevance at the symposium today.

President Clinton told the New York Times, "McVeigh and his supporters were profoundly alienated, disconnected people who bought into this militant antigovernment line. Furthermore, the Internet has allowed political messages to reach both the serious and the seriously disturbed."

President Clinton will be in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, April 21st to accept the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum's Reflection of Hope Award. For more information www.reflectionsofhopeaward.com
