Visit the Memorial and Museum as Part of
National Travel and Tourism Week!

May 06, 2010

The first full week of May is annually recognized as National Travel and Tourism Week, a tradition first celebrated in 1984. It was established as National Tourism Week when the U.S. Congress passed a joint resolution in 1983 designating the week to be celebrated in May.

This year, the National Travel and Tourism Week falls between May 8 and May 16, and during this week we encourage you to visit the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.

"It's one thing to read about the Oklahoma City bombing in a text book, it's a totally different thing to experience it here at the Museum. That three dimensional learning experience stimulates you to look more, to learn more, to study more and to want to learn more, because it's so alive," said Ford Bell, CEO of the American Association of Museums. Learn why he describes the Memorial and Museum as, "an experience that every American should have."
