June 07, 2010

Join us this summer at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum! Learn how the character of those affected by the April 19, 1995, bombing created hope for a nation in the Memorial Museum. See how summer brings new life at the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial, and walk the paths of stone between the Gates of Time.

Memorial Museum

Open Monday through Saturday from 9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., and Sunday from 12:00p.m. to 6:0p.m., the Memorial Museum takes visitors on a chronological, self-guided tour through the story of April 19, 1995, and the days, weeks, months and years that followed the bombing of Oklahoma City's Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

Outdoor Symbolic Memorial

Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial is a place of quiet reflection. This Memorial honors the victims, survivors, rescuers, and all who were changed forever on April 19, 1995. It encompasses the now-sacred soil where the Murrah Building once stood, as well as the surrounding area devastated during the attack.

National Park Service Scheduled Talks

National Park Service Interpretive Rangers provide 30-minute scheduled talks daily for visitors to the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial. Between the Gates of Time explores the meaning of the iconic symbols of the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial, including the Gates of Time, Field of Empty Chairs, Reflecting Pool, Survivor Tree, Children’s Area and Memorial Fence. Visitors leave with a greater understanding of the hope and resilience of this community and this nation.
