Bahrain Diplomats Make Late Night Visit to Memorial

June 11, 2010

Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Adam Ereli and the Bahrain Economic Development Board, toured the Oklahoma City National Memorial late Thursday night when they arrived in town for the United States Conference of Mayors being held in Oklahoma City this week.

The group wanted to make sure they saw the Memorial and because of a busy schedule, chose to experience the Memorial at night. "It is a moving site and we are honored to visit this special place," said Ambassador Ereli.

The US Conference of Mayors is offering daily walking tours to special guests in town for the five day annual gathering. "We are honored to welcome the mayors and other special guests to Oklahoma City," said Kari Watkins, Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. "We hope these guests will come to understand both the impact of violence and the true meaning of hope, by experiencing the Memorial and Museum."
