First Person: Stories of Hope
Features Donna and Jeff Weaver

Join us this summer for a First Person: Stories of Hope program. Family members, survivors, first responders, journalists, and people involved with rebuilding our city and creating the Memorial will share the remarkable stories of their experiences from April 19, 1995, to the present. Museum visitors can ask questions and learn firsthand how tragedy was transformed into hope. First Person is offered in the Museum on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. from June 4th to August 27th, or for groups by appointment. The program is included free with Museum admission.

Donna and Jeff Weaver
Friday, July 29

Widow and son of Michael D. Weaver

On April 19, 1995, Donna Weaver was at work in her office at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, located just two blocks north of the Murrah Building. She was among the earliest people at the scene of the bombing, which killed her husband Mike Weaver, an attorney for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Their sons, Jeff and Tim, were 16 and 12 at the time of the bombing. Weaver was a witness in the federal trial of Timothy McVeigh.

Jeff graduated from the University of Tulsa, works for Chesapeake Energy in Oklahoma City and is getting married in August. Tim graduated from Vanderbilt University and the OU College of Medicine and began his residency this month.

Weaver retired from Southwestern Bell and spends her time volunteering at her church and traveling. She serves on the board for the Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation.
