Memorial Education Coordinator Participates at 2010 Alternative Education Summer Institute

Education Coordinator Lynne Porter participated as both exhibitor and presenter at the 2010 Alternative Education Summer Institute at the Meridian Hotel and Convention Center on August 3. Porter presented a workshop on Called2Change, the Memorial’s premier violence prevention program. Participants experienced the Hope Trunk, a First Person presentation with survivor Mary Mowdy and learned the components of this successful program about respect, resilience and responsibility, and encouraging students to make wise choices. The institute is designed for administrators, alternative education teachers, counselors and curriculum directors.
