Casady Service Learning Focuses on Memorial

As a result of attending the Memorial’s Education Summit, Casady School Service Learning Director Carmen Clay was motivated to bring members of Casady’s Youth and Adult Action and Advisory Council (YAC) to the Memorial and Museum and challenge them to incorporate their experience into a project for the school year. Hope Trunks were delivered to all four divisions and First Person speakers Rev. Wendy Lambert and Battalion Chief Mike Walker, Oklahoma City Fire Department, shared their stories during chapel services. The important lessons learned from the bombing will be incorporated into the school’s International Day of Peace activities in September as well as a time of remembrance on April 19 and the OKC Memorial Marathon Kids Walk.
