Conservator Conducts Artifact Survey

December 09, 2010
Mary Fahey, Chief Conservator, The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, is in the Memorial Archives to conduct a detailed conservation survey of the Museum’s metal artifacts, including those on exhibit in the Museum and those stored in Archives, as well as an overall evaluation of the condition of the chairs. She will also provide recommendations for storage, housing, training and ongoing care of artifacts, indicating which items require a conservator’s expertise and which items could be conserved by Archives staff. The survey is an important component of the Museum’s conservation plan, and vital to the continued preservation of the Memorial and Museum.
