Survivors Participate in Martin Luther King, Jr.,
Day Chapel Speaker Series

January 12, 2011

Bombing survivors Amy Petty, Allegiance Credit Union, and Melissa McLawhorn Houston, Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General, shared their stories with students at Casady School today as part of the school’s Martin Luther King, Jr., Day Chapel Speaker Series. Since Martin Luther King, Jr., Day is designated a national day of service, speakers for the week focused on ways each of us can make a difference by serving others. Both Petty and Houston talked about the many ways in which the kindness of others helped them find hope and a renewed appreciation for life, and encouraged the students to make good choices and respect others. Casady students will be involved with a variety of community projects on Monday.
