Workshop Features Department of Homeland Security Expert

Chris Dishman, Central Region Director for the Department of Homeland Security’s State and Local Program Office, discussed domestic terrorism in the context of current day threats and how they evolve in a workshop for educators held today in the Museum’s Center for Education & Outreach. Dishman, who works within the Office of Intelligence and Analysis facilitating information sharing, provided insight on the importance of reporting suspicious activity, as well as information on the DHS See Something, Say Something program. The lecture was followed by Q & A.

Dishman has also worked in the Office of National Drug Control Policy, the Defense Intelligence Agency and the U. S. Commission on National Security.

Newly elected State Superintendent of Public Instruction Janet Barresi was in attendance.
