Museum Builders...
Hardy Watkins

February 04, 2011

It takes a thousand voices to tell a single story...
Ancient Native American proverb

Each day between now and February 19th, you will hear from one of the Museum builders. More than a decade ago, people through this community came together to build the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. This process was like none other. We sought some of the best museum experts to help our community build this special place. On Saturday, February 19th, the Museum turns 10!

Hardy Watkins served as the Memorial & Museum Owner’s Representative for three years as the site took shape. He guided the process and coordinated the architects, construction crews, Memorial staff and trustees throughout the construction of the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial and Memorial Museum. His words line the Museum walls today. Hear his story in his own words...

Make plans now to visit the Memorial Museum during the 10th Birthday celebration on Saturday, February 19th from 9:00-6:00 p.m. Museum admission is free on this special day courtesy of Devon Energy. Hear Hardy and the other “Museum Builders” tell their stories in a special First Person program at 1:00 on Saturday, February 19th in the Museum as we celebrate the accomplishments with cake and ice cream.
