Museum Builders...
Rowland Denman

February 05, 2011

It takes a thousand voices to tell a single story...
Ancient Native American proverb

Each day between now and February 19th, you will hear from one of the Museum builders. More than a decade ago, people through this community came together to build the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. This process was like none other. We sought some of the best museum experts to help our community build this special place. On Saturday, February 19th, the Museum turns 10!

Rowland Denman was the Trustee assigned to head the Design Construction Committee and worked with staff and the Board throughout this process. Rowland became the Chairman of the Memorial Foundation in 2001 and chaired the board for the next year. His work was an integral part of the success of this site. Hear Rowland recount the work that went into building this Museum.

Make plans now to join us at the Memorial Museum for the 10th Birthday Celebration on Saturday, February 19th from 9:00-6:00 p.m. Museum admission is free that day courtesy of Devon Energy. Hear the “Museum Builders” tell their stories in a special First Person program at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19th in the Museum as we celebrate with cake and ice cream.
