Museum Builders...
Tom Bell

February 06, 2011

It takes a thousand voices to tell a single story...
Ancient Native American proverb

Each day between now and February 19th, you will hear from one of the Museum builders. More than a decade ago, people through this community came together to build the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. This process was like none other. We sought some of the best museum experts to help our community build this special place. On Saturday, February 19th, the Museum turns 10!

Tom Bell was a blessing to this process as he literally came to Oklahoma City for extended periods of time to help us capture the stories of those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever on April 19th to use throughout the Museum. Tom Bell is a senior writer and producer for Hillmann & Carr in Washington, D.C. Hillmann & Carr was the media producer for the Museum and Tom was an important part of that team capturing more than 200 interviews that today help tell the story of the Oklahoma City bombing and the renaissance of the city torn apart by terrorism. Hear Tom reflect on the tough assignment he had of capturing these memories.

Join us for the Museum Birthday Celebration on Saturday, February 19th from 9:00a.m-6:00 p.m. Museum admission is free that day courtesy of Devon Energy. Hear the “Museum Builders” tell their stories in a special First Person program at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19th in the Museum as we celebrate the accomplishments with cake and ice cream.
